The market opened positive and traded in very narrow range but ended in a hawkish mode as profit booking was seen in the market in an afternoon session. A great rally was seen in consumer durable sector stocks as some of the stocks have presented very good numbers. Sensex gained 45.60 points to 33731.17, Nifty lost 0.70 points to 10451.70.

Top Gainers

ONGC by 3.73% to 199, M&M by 2.99% to 1370.50, Infratel by 2.47% to 423.95, Tata Motors by 2.28% to 457.90 and Wipro by 2.19 to 301.

Top Losers

HPCL by 2.67% to 433.75, ZEEL by 2% to 528.15, Yes Bank By 1.98% to 319.50, UPL by 1.88% to 761.05 and Sun Pharma by 1.82% to 541.20.

Analysis of Top Gainer and Loser

ONGC is the top gainer in today's market as according to reports the government is going to privatize its 60% business in ONGC.

HPCL is the top loser in today's market as profit booking was seen in stock as the price has broken its support level.

Key Market News-

Jewellery stocks were buzzing in today's market as some of the companies have presented very good number for the second quarter and due to that a whole sector index was up nearly 8% in today's market.

According to ICRA report, India's logistics sector will grow 9 to 10 % per annum in coming days due to fluctuations in the economy and freight demand due to GST implementation.

Stocks to Watch

JK Tyre is on the upside while HPCL is on the downside.

JK Tyre is currently trading at Rs. 153, up by Rs. 7.15 or 4.90% from its previous closing of Rs. 145.85 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs.145.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs.153.95 and Rs. 145. respectively. So far 2075217(NSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs.3470 Crore. The BSE group stock has touched a 52 week high of Rs.186 on 08-June-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs.106 on 27-December-2016.

HPCL is currently trading at Rs.434.05, down by Rs.11.60 or 2.60% from its previous closing of Rs.445.65 on the NSE. The scrip opened at Rs.443.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs.444.90 and Rs.430.85 respectively. So far 3124120(NSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs.66217 Crore. The BSE/NSE group stock has touched a 52 week high of Rs.492.80 On 31-August-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs.269.31 on 26-December-2016.
